Power Infrastructure

PipeForce installs underground power infrastructure across the Waikato, Auckland, Bay of Plenty, and Northland regions. Our work includes cable trenching and conduit installation, cable protection systems, joint bay construction, and coordination with network utility operators to deliver safe, compliant power network infrastructure.

What We Do

Underground power networks are a critical part of New Zealand's infrastructure — particularly in new subdivisions and urban developments where overhead lines are no longer acceptable. PipeForce provides the civil construction component of underground power installations, working alongside electrical contractors and network companies to install the ducting, conduit, and cable protection systems that carry high and low voltage power cables.

Our Power Infrastructure Services

PipeForce handles the full scope of civil works for power infrastructure including trenching and conduit installation for LV and HV power cables, installation of Novalink, Novaduct, and other approved cable protection systems, joint bay and pillar box pad construction, transformer pad preparation and civil works, cable route excavation and reinstatement, and coordination with network utility operators including WEL Networks and other regional distributors.

Standards and Compliance

All power infrastructure work is completed in accordance with NZ Electricity Code of Practice for Safe Distances (NZECP 34) and the specific requirements of the relevant network utility operator. PipeForce crews understand the safety requirements of working near live electrical infrastructure and carry appropriate certifications and training.

Subdivisions and Developments

For subdivision and greenfield development projects, PipeForce installs the complete underground power reticulation package as part of our broader civil works scope. This is often combined with water, wastewater, and communications conduit installation — reducing the number of contractors on site and improving coordination.
